Frontier “spokes-animal” down to three contenders

It has been a long-hard fought battle in the animal kingdom, but three animals have emerged as front runners in Frontier Airlines campaign to find a new “spokes-animal” for its aircraft’s tail wing.

Dorris the chicken went down; Paula the pig is out; and Cammie the cow was sent to pasture.

Now, in a final round, Polly the Parrot, Chloe the Chipmunk and Enrique the Tree Frog will battle it out in a Facebook campaign that could land their giant-sized picture on the aircraft’s tail wing. The Denver-based carrier, which operates a number of flights out of Colorado Springs, launched the campaign in March.

Three Colorado Springs coffee shops will host part of the voting competition at 10 a.m. Thursday:  Agia Sophia, Nemo’s Coffee Shop and Colorado Coffee Merchants. The candidates are giving away one free small drink per person, as supplies last, first-come, first-served.

Voters have until April 15 to cast their votes for their favorite animal on Frontier’s Facebook and Twitter pages .  The link features video messages from the contenders and a chance for prizes for those who vote.

The winner will be announced at the end of April.
