El Pomar Foundation announced the election of Gene Renuart, Andrea Aragon, Dennis Maes, and Christina McGrath to the Foundation’s Board of Trustees. Renuart will serve as the board’s Pikes Peak metro trustee, a two-year rotating position. Aragon will serve as the board’s regional trustee, a one-year rotating position designed to represent communities outside of Denver and Colorado Springs. Maes will serve as the board’s advisory trustee, a one-year position designed to advise the board on an area of special interest to the trustees while acting as a full voting member of the board. McGrath will serve as the board’s fellowship alumni trustee, a one-year rotating position reserved for graduates of the Foundation’s Fellowship Program.

Centura Health has named Allen Kemp, MD, MBA, president and chief executive officer of its statewide, clinically-integrated multi-specialty physician group. Kemp will be responsible for executing the strategies and tactics for the Centura Health Physician Group, coordinating and linking with all Centura Health hospitals and operating entities, and fostering partnerships and alliances with other organizations that connect CHPG’s nearly 400 practices and 80 plus locations across Colorado to other community assets.

Elaine Phelen serves as Tri-Lakes Cares’ development manager. She is responsible for the grant writing activities of Tri-Lakes Cares and assists the executive director on development activities. She has a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in environmental management. She spent seven years working in Washington D.C. on Capitol Hill with the House of Representatives’ Energy and Commerce and Science and Technology committees.

William Levis, consumer counsel, Department of Regulatory Agencies, has been appointed as the consumer advocate on the seven-member federal -state Joint Board on Universal Service by the Federal Communications Commission. The joint board is composed of two of the five FCC commissioners and four state utility commissioners as well as a consumer advocate.

Colorado Public Employees’ Retirement Association executive director Meredith Williams will leave PERA after 12 years to become the executive director of the National Council on Teacher Retirement. Williams’ resignation from PERA is effective June 30, 2012.
