Business travelers are doing more on fewer trips, study says

Even as the economy recovers, business travel is still doing more than less, according to the Los Angeles Times.

A recent study found that many business travelers decide to stay a few extra days to handle more business, than to take multiple trips.

As a result, the estimated total number of trips in the U.S. dropped 22.7 percent from 2000 to 2011, but overall spending on business travel increased 3.3 percent, according to a study released last week by the Global Business Travel Assn., a trade group in Virginia.
