Rocky Ford farmers take steps to reassure public

Farmers in Rocky Ford are aking steps to reassure customers the cantaloupes they sell are safe, said the Pueblo Chieftain.

The growing season has just started, but farmers near Rocky Ford are concerned people might not buy their produce because of a listeria outbreak miles away.

To demonstrate their commitment to safety and regulations, Rocky Ford farmers have unified and started a group called the Rocky Ford Growers Association, the Chieftain reported.
