Stock market gets boost from earnings, Germany

An optimistic survey on the German economy boosted Europe’s stock market in a week that was largely concerned with Spain’s increasing debt, reports the Christian Science Monitor.

The German optimism was backed by strong retail sales in the United Kingdom.

The German stock market was up 1 percent and U.S. futures were buoyed by positive earnings reports from major corporations.
