Wal-Mart said to be subject of U.S. criminal probe

Wal-Mart is the subject of a U.S. Justice Department probe into alleged bribery in its Mexican division, Bloomberg reports.

The Justice Department is investigating whether the retail giant violated the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.  Wal-Mart is conducting its own review of allegations that its representatives paid local officials in Mexico to get stores opened faster in the early 2000s.
