Three Colorado Springs law enforcement agencies will accept unwanted prescription drugs in the Colorado Prescription Drug Take-Back event Saturday.
“Prescription drug abuse is one of the gravest problems facing Colorado today,” said Colorado Attorney General John Suthers.
Unused prescription drugs can be stolen or taken accidentally, and those thrown in the trash can turn into poison for animals or can be stolen, according to a release from the Drug Enforcement Agency.
Controlled substances like narcotic pain killers cannot be returned to pharmacies or doctors’ offices, according to the release.
The following locations will accept prescription drug returns between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday only.
