Special session starts today for General Assembly

Gov. John Hickenlooper won’t open today’s special session with in person, instead he’ll send a letter expressing disappointment at the way lawmakers handled the end of the regular session, reports the Denver Post.

The session was called after House leadership failed to debate a civil unions bill, and in the process, killed 30 other bills that were slated to be heard alongside it.
