The MacSuperstore is moving from the east side of town to the University Village shopping center this fall.
“We feel like we’ll be better able to serve all of Colorado Springs at that location,” said Les Molina, manager at the MacSuperstore currently located at 3646 New Center Point, just off of Powers Boulevard. “And being close to the university will probably be good for business.”
He added that the location will make the store more accessible to people who live on the west side of the city.
The new location in University Village on North Nevada Avenue near Austin Bluffs Parkway, is close to the popular warehouse grocery dry goods store Costco.
“That center seems to be picking up a lot of speed,” Molina said.
The MacSuperstore is independently owned and not affiliated with the Apple Store. There is one more MacSuperstore in California. Molina said he expects to open in the fall and hopes to get a head start on the holidays, but should be ready by Nov. 1 at the latest.
Kevin Kratt, president of Kratt Commercial Properties, which is developing the center, said the store would be a good addition.
“We’re very, very excited about them coming in,” said Kevin Kratt, president of Kratt Commercial Properties, which is developing the retail center on North Nevada Avenue near Austin Bluffs Parkway. “They bring a tremendous amount of customer loyalty and energy.”
The store will be adjacent to the 4,500-square-foot Xfinity customer service center that opened at University Village in April.
