More than $50,000 in grants are available for the Spirit of the Springs program and the city is seeking applications to fund requests.
Applications for the money – which was raised during the first Mayor’s Cup golf tournament – can be found at www.bachsoffice.com.
Deadline is June 29, 2012. Funding decisions will be announced in July.
In order to be considered for a grant, the project should work toward achieving the objectives of the Spirit of the Springs initiatives.
1. Celebrate and connect Colorado Springs. Celebrations that commemorate current community traditions and create new events to showcase the city.
2. Cultivate future city government leaders. Projects that grow new city leaders and create diversity in the city’s workforce.
3. Encourage resident involvement in the city. The goal of the projects is to connect individuals who want to volunteer their time with community organizations who need volunteers.
