SearsVacation lets you put trip on layaway

At Sears, even travel can be paid for on the installment plan, says the Chicago Tribune.

The company plans to launch SearsVacation.com, a travel and leisure website that will include hotel reservations, plane fares and car rentals.

Consumers can pay for trips gradually or purchase pre-paid vacation packages.
