Big Lots, a discount store that carries everything from clothes to home furnishings and electronics, signed a lease for a new location in the First & Main Town Center off Powers Boulevard.
The retailer is completing $227,000 in tenant improvements to its new storefront at 2975 New Center Pt., according to Pikes Peak Regional Building permits.
Fred Veitch, vice president at Nor’Wood Development Group, which owns First & Main, said he expects Big Lots to finish those improvements in two to three weeks and announce it’s opening.
Big Lots did not reply to a request for comment earlier this week.
“They’re a value-oriented retailer,” Veitch said. “And those are about the only retailers right now who are making expansion moves.”
He said the location is a good Class A spot for them.
“It will fit in nicely next to Lowe’s and other hard-goods tenants on that end of the project,” Veitch said.
