Hopeful signs emerge for struggling jobs market

U.S. private employers stepped up hiring and fewer people filed for new unemployment claims, said the Chicago Tribune.

Non-government companies added 176,000 workers to their rolls in June, and the number of first-time unemployment claims dropped to the lowest level in two months.

The numbers come from payroll company ADP – the federal government will release its data next week.
