Senate Democrats want to side-step ‘no taxes’ pledge

Senate Democrats have a solution to their Republican colleagues’ pledge not to raise taxes to balance the budget, said the New York Times.

Their idea is to let the Bush-era tax cuts expire, and then cut taxes for the middle class only.

The effort shows how far Congress is going to try to fix the fiscal cliff that the nation is facing at the end of the year.
