In the wake of losing market share to online companies like Amazon.com, retail giant Wal-Mart has started lobbying efforts, said Bloomberg.
The House of Representatives is hearing testimony on a bill that will let states collect sales tax from out-of-state businesses that sell items to their residents. That’s a big deal for Wal-Mart, because not collecting sales tax in states where it doesn’t have a physical presence gives a price deal to Amazon.com
