Gentry’s Flowers moving out of downtown

Gentry’s Flowers, in downtown Colorado Springs, is moving.

Owner Marie McPherson said she is packing up the shop, 225 E. Pikes Peak Ave., this week.

McPherson said she hopes to be relocated to a newer north by the end of the year.

“But, in the meantime I did not want customers to think I was going out of business,” she said.

Customers can still place orders by telephone, 632-0707.

Gentry’s Flowers opened in 1982, and offers imported flowers such as ginger, protea, anthurium and heleconia, all from “The Big Island,” as well as freshly cut orchid stems from Hawaii and Bangkok, McPherson said.

The shop added Peyton and Falcon to its delivery services, she said.

“We are a celebrating 30 years in business this year, and we are still around,” she said.
