The Colorado State Fair says it has turned a profit, after receiving money from the state agriculture department.

Finances released Wednesday show the fair posted a $128,000 profit.

Revenues rose and expenses fell, but it also received $375,000 from the state Department of Agriculture, which it had requested after it projected a budget shortfall following the 2011 State Fair in August.

Colorado State Fair general manager Chris Wiseman says his goal is to break even or make money so it doesn’t have to ask the agriculture department for money.
