Vail lands major snowboarding event

The Burton U.S. Open Snowboarding Championships will move from Vermont to Vail next year, said the Denver Business Journal.

The event gives a much-needed economic boon to Vail, but also gives Colorado officials the chance to prove the state can host a major winter sporting event.
