This fall, Starbucks will start processing credit and debit cards through Square, said the New York Times.

Eventually customers will be able to pay for their orders merely by saying their names. Although smartphone payments have a long way to go before they are universally accepted by retailers, the Starbucks deal with Square eases the way.
