California company buys Pier Pharmaceuticals

A California company has taken steps to buy Pier Pharmaceuticals, a Louisville-based drug company, said the Denver Business Journal.

Cortex Pharmaceuticals of Irvine, Calif., purchased the Colorado company Aug. 10.

Pier is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Cortex. Both companies make drugs to combat sleep apnea.
