Entrepreneurs Course open house

The Small Business Development Center hosts an open house from 4 to 5 p.m. at the center, 1420 Austin Bluffs Parkway, to answer questions about the NxLevel Leading Edge: Entrepreneurs Course, which begins in September and runs to December. The course covers planning and research, management/legal structure, marketing analysis and deal-making process.

Cybersecurity for your business

The Greater Colorado Springs Chamber and EDC and the Western Cyber Exchange host a luncheon about cybersecurity. The keynote speaker is Jacques Erasmus, chief information security officer for Webroot. The luncheon is from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Antlers Hilton Hotel, 4 S. Precipitation monitoring for teachers

Colorado State University is helping to bring donated rain gauges to every school across Colorado while training kids and teachers to use the scientific measurements in their classrooms. Teachers in Colorado Springs are invited to a free 30-minute training seminar at 4:30 p.m. in the Colorado Springs Utilities Conservation and Environmental Center, 2855 Mesa Road. Forum seeks input from people with disabilities

The Independence Center and the ADA Center are hosting a forum from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Pikes Peak Area Agency on Aging, 14 S. Chestnut St., to gather information about existing procedures for people with disabilities during community emergencies. Emergency operations staffs from Colorado Springs, Manitou Springs and the local Red Cross have been invited to attend and listen. Information provided will help emergency response teams improve existing processes and update current emergency plans. The forum is open to anyone with a disability or a family member of a person with a disability who has an experience to share from the recent Waldo Canyon Fire.
