Frontier Airlines presented a check this month for $54,440 to the Pikes Peak Red Cross to help people affected by the Colorado wildfires. During the month of July, Frontier Airlines donated 10 cents for every $1 spent on-board for food and beverage items to American Red Cross Disaster Relief. This gift will help the Red Cross prepare for and provide shelter, food, emotional support and other assistance in response to this disaster.
“The loss from the Colorado wildfires weighs heavy on us not only as Colorado’s hometown airline, but also because of the impact they have had on our customers and staff,” said David Siegel, Frontier’s President and CEO. “We are happy to have been able to help those hurting in our community.”
The Credit Union of Colorado Foundation has donated $5,000 to Colorado Springs Together, which is facilitating the rebuilding process for the neighborhoods devastated by the Waldo Canyon fire. This money was raised through public donations to the foundation earmarked for those impacted by the recent Colorado wildfires. This donation is in addition to $5,439 donated by the foundation to the American Red Cross for the same purpose.
Brad and Tina Rhodes, owners of Allegra in Colorado Springs, were recently honored by Allegra Network with the franchise system’s Sales Excellence Award. The recognition is earned by the top 10 percent in the network.
“It’s gratifying to be a leading local resource for broad-based marketing services that can help businesses to grow,” said Brad Rhodes. “These marketing and print communications strategies and tools aren’t just for the ‘big guys’ anymore, and small and medium-sized businesses are discovering how important they can be for their success.”
The Northwestern Mutual Foundation, through its Community Service Award program, is donating $10,000 to support Citizen Soldier Connection, a Colorado Springs-based non-profit organization dedicated to providing friendship and support to the soldiers and military families stationed at Fort Carson.
As one of only 26 recipients nationwide to be honored through the Community Service Award program in 2012, Kevin Kaveney, managing director of Northwestern Mutual in Colorado Springs, will present the donation on behalf of the Foundation to Don Addy, co-founder and chairman of Citizen Soldier Connection, and Terrance McWilliams, president of Citizen Soldier Connection.
“All of us at the Northwestern Mutual-Colorado Springs office are proud to support our local service members and their families,” Kaveney said. “Assisting Citizen Soldier Connection is an extension of Northwestern Mutual’s commitment to serving our community, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact that this Community Service Award donation will have on our neighbors at Fort Carson.”
