The Ecumenical Social Ministries, a local nonprofit, is partnering with Men’s Wearhouse to help disadvantaged job seekers get a boost through its annual National Suit Drive, the country’s largest collection of gently used men’s business attire.
This is the fourth time that ESM has joined Men’s Wearhouse and about 200 other charities to distribute collected items. The department store is looking for men’s suits, sport coats, slacks, shirts, jackets, ties, belts and shoes. To thank people for donating the items, Men’s Wearhouse gave them 50 percent off their next purchase and donated two ties for every suit received.
The annual Men’s Suit Giveaway will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 15 at 201 N. Weber St. Staff and volunteers will act as personal shoppers to help select coordinated outfits with accessories appropriate for a job interview or a new job.
Last year, Ecumenical Social Ministries helped more than 150 men get suited up for their next job interview.
ESM was founded in 1982 by eight downtown churches as an outreach to the low-income andhomeless of central Colorado Springs, is celebrating 30 years of service.
If you have suits ot donate, please take them to 201 N. Weber St.
