The U.S. Small Business Administration and the American Association of Retired Persons is hosting a joint event to help entrepreneurs and potential entrepreneurs who are age 50 and older.
Gary Rasmussen, a franchisor who turned his life around by starting his own business at the age of 60, will be among the featured guests.
The “Encore Entrepreneur” event is from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Oct 2 at the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, 1445 Market St. The event also features networking and mentoring with small business counselors.
There are more than 76 million baby boomers in the country and many are interested in and poised to be entrepreneurs, SBA officials said. New research found that one in four Americans between the ages 44 and 70 are interested in starting their own a business or nonprofit venture in the next five to 10 years.
The event is free but seating is limited. RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org. Call SBA Colorado District Office at 303-844-2607 with questions.
