Space Foundation hosts Halloween fundraiser

The Colorado Springs-based Space Foundation is holding its first fundraising event – a futuristic Space & Science Fiction Halloween Ball.

The event is slated for the 6:30 to 11:30 p.m. Oct. 27 at the foundation’s world headquarters, 4425 Arrowswest Drive.

Tickets are $20 a person in advance and $25 at the door. Proceeds will pay for scholarships for area teachers and students to participtate in education programs at the Space Foundation Discovery Institute and the Space Foundation Northrop Grumman Science Center, featuring Science on a Sphere. Proceeds from the cash bar and silent auction will go directly to the Space Foundation’s education programs.

The ticket price includes heavy appetizers and desserts.

The event is only for 21 and over, and prizes will be awarded for the best costume in a variety of categories. The event includes dancing, but if dancing isn’t your thing, watch classic sci-fi films in the Space Foundation’s Area 51.
