Drive, discipline and determination are qualities Christina Baker has never run short on.
Whether it was leading troops in Iraq, running trails, giving her time to Project Angel Heart or climbing the ranks of the mortgage industry, Baker always set her sights high.
“It started with my parents,” she said. “They ingrained good morals, integrity and a strong work ethic.”
After spending two years in a number of positions with Mortgage Financial Solutions, Baker took over as chief financial officer in 2008. During her tenure, she has weathered the industry’s upheaval.
“It’s been a very challenging time, but it keeps you agile and ready to meet the changing needs of customers and regulators.”
A West Point graduate, she credits the legendary college for her organizational skills, as well as commitment to self discipline and integrity.
As a commissioned officer, she led troops in Iraq, then came home to earn her master’s degree in human resources from Webster University.
From there, she found way to the world of lending — which she found to be her true professional calling.
Today, Baker hits the running trails around the area with good friends to relax. A runner since grade school, she says it’s a great change of pace from the office.
Baker volunteers much of her free time to Project Angel Heart, which prepares and delivers meals to those with terminal illnesses.
