The Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority will hold an open house about the Fillmore corridor improvement project from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the cafeteria of Coronado High School, 1590 W. Fillmore St.
The PPRTA will outline the construction phases and timeline, and people will have a change to meet the contractor in charge of the project.
The construction project will affect motorists, residents and businesses who travel or access Fillmore Street between Interstate 25 and Sage Street; Chestnut Street between Taylor Street and Armory Street; and Parker Street between Taylor Street and Fillmore Street.
The project is being paid for through the 1 percent sales tax in November 2004 to address infrastructure and transit needs in the region. The tax revenue is divided into three categories: 55 percent for capital improvements, 35 percent for maintenance and 10 percent for transit.
