SBDC recruits, retains new jobs in 2012

The Colorado Small Business Development Center network created and retained 4,525 jobs during fiscal year 2012.

The center consulted more than 6,000 local businesses in 56 counties, resulting in $103 million government and private sector contracts and $105 million in capital infusion.

“The SBA in partnership with the Colorado SBDC network has worked tirelessly to create and retain jobs especially in these tough economic times,” said Greg Lopez, SBA Colorado District Director.

During the past year, the Colorado SBDC network has been recognized for leading the country in new initiatives such as Brandify, a marketing tool developed in partnership with Microsoft, have helped the network surpassed SBA goals in job creation, job retention, capital formation and contract dollars awarded.

“The Colorado SBDC network is a group of professionals that help create job growth,” said Kelly Manning, SBDC state director. “The centers are phenomenal in moving businesses in the right direction and improving Colorado’s economy one business at a time.”

The Colorado SBDC is comprised of 14 subcenters located throughout the state. It provides free one-on-one assistance to current and prospective small business owners.
