This weekend The Home Front Cares will hold its first statewide fundraising campaign that seeks to raise $64,000 for family members of deployed military troops.
The nonprofit organization is partnering with Sam’s Club locations across Colorado in the effort. Those wanting to support troops with donations can visit 10 participating Sam’s Clubs locations across the state between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day of the three-day weekend, or visit www.thehomefrontcares.org to donate.
Both Colorado Springs Sam’s locations, 715 S. Academy Blvd. and 1850 E. Woodmen Road, will participate. There will be parking lot cookouts selling food and beverages.
Sam’s Club statewide participation was organized by Bryan Alley, manager of the Sam’s Club in south Colorado Springs and a member of THFC’s board of advisors
Since 2003, The Home Front Cares has raised more than $4 million for emergency aid to Colorado service members, veterans and military families.
