I'm happy to hear that an emphasis on year round activity geared to art in Manitou will be implemented. I'd hope that along with that, a consideration to emphasize other very important elements to year round enjoyment is wrapped in. Soda Springs park has turned into a blemish that should be a bright spot in or community. From a dream that was sold as a revitalized park with music amphitheater, strolling, fishing bridges and good lighting, it's now more of a nightmare.. dirt filled, dark, ill-maintained. Parents are afraid to take their kids there. ART is an overall environment not just galleries. It's sidewalk cafes, mini parks, an overall artistic invitation. I hope attention is paid to getting the park back, creating joyful evening events there and making it viable to visit from one end of town to the other...to stroll the avenues, hear music wafting as opposed to having to cross the street to avoid a nasty area.
