Colorado Springs Utilities Board of Directors – essentially City Council in a different role – is seeking 10 Springs residents to be part of a task force charged with developing and evaluating requests for proposals regarding a study to decommission and remove the Martin Drake power plant, located in the downtown corridor.

Residents should be able to be objective in assessing the effects of the proposal, awareness of power generation facilities and replacement power alternatives, understand rate payer and community issues and be familiar with financial and economic analysis.

These are volunteer positions and will require about 20 hours a month. At a minimum the volunteer must commit to attending six to eight meeting during a three or four month period.

To apply, complete the application available at www.csu.org. Applications can be submitted to mdevine@springsgov.com or mailed to City Hall, Attn: Marty Devine Sletta, 107 N. Nevada Suite 100, Colorado Springs, Co. 80903.

Applications must be received no later than Dec. 10. Call Sletta at 385-5452 for more information.
