The city of Colorado Springs and the Westside Community Center LLC have renewed their partnership agreement to continue operating the Westside Community Center at 1628 W. Bijou St. The new agreement will run through December 2015.

The partnership started in 2010, and the Westside Community Center LLC was created by the Center for Strategic Ministry, a nonprofit that supports Woodmen Valley Chapel. The group took over in April 2010 and has cleaned, painted and reorganized the community center.

They’ve also continued services and provided new programs – summer day camps and a reading mentor program for children, nutrition classes and a senior meals program for adults. On average, more than 8,000 people use the center every month.
