Jessica Harper has been promoted to senior loan officer at First Mortgage Company. She has been in the mortgage lending business for more than 18 years. First Mortgage Company has in-house underwriters, processors and closers.

Joyce Martin, RN, has been named general manager of Visiting Nurse Association of Colorado, a provider of home care, hospice and wellness services throughout Colorado. Martin is responsible for overseeing VNA’s Colorado Springs and Pueblo services, which provides home care and wellness services along the Front Range from Pueblo to Monument. Martin has been a registered nurse for more than 35 years. She has a bachelor’s degree in business with health care emphasis from the University of Redlands in California.

Natalie Hirsch has been appointed sales manager for the Colorado Springs Convention and Visitors Bureau. Hirsch was previously with Embassy Suites and comes from a hotel sales background with prior positions at Hyatt Place and Hilton Garden Inn. Before hotel sales, she spent several years in the food and beverage industry including management of area restaurants. She is a Colorado native and loves the outdoors. At the CVB, Hirsch is responsible for all government and military events including military reunions, associations headquartered in states west of the Mississippi River, education associations as well as fraternal and defense contractors.

Wayne Beevers has joined Pike Advisors as a commercial real estate adviser. He will concentrate on tenant and buyer representation. Pike Advisors offers representation to tenants and buyers and does not represent landlords in the Colorado Springs market area. Beevers has experience in real estate valuation and financial analysis. Previously he worked with Sierra Commercial Real Estate as a broker associate.

Jennifer Osler has joined the Colorado Springs office of Holland & Hart LLP. Having worked as in-house counsel, Osler knows firsthand the importance of her clients’ intellectual property portfolios to their businesses. Osler combines her legal experience with an understanding of the impact technology and the Internet has on companies and their intellectual property.

Rob Bennett has joined PPC Solar (Paradise Power Company, Inc.) as branch manager/technical solar consultant. After 25 years in the electrical design and construction, Bennett went back to school to pursue a career in renewable energy. He has four professional certificates in photovoltaics and received the North American Board of Certified Energy Practioners PV technical sales certification.

Sean Donohue has joined Hughes Associates Inc. He will manage the HAI Colorado Springs office. He is a licensed fire protection engineer with more than 17 years experience in the industry including 10 years as a code official in Colorado Springs. He performs and directs engineering tasks; specifically code consulting, systems design, plans reviews and project management. Prior to joining Hughes Associates, he spent several years with other consulting firms specializing in fire protection and life safety, both in project engineer and engineering manager roles.

Criminal defense lawyer Patrick D. Mika has been named president-elect of the American Board of Criminal Lawyers for 2014-2015. ABCL is an exclusive criminal defense organization. Membership requirements include winning a minimum of 50 felony trials and five cases where a life sentence or death may be imposed. Mika, who has a national criminal defense practice and reputation, has been a member of ABCL since 1994, serving on the board of governors and most recently secretary of the organization.
