Progressive Insurance is hiring 72 people in Colorado Springs for call center and sales jobs.

A company official said Progressive was recruiting new hires here because it considers the local facility as one of its more permanent offices.

“We’ve had great success in the Springs,” said Connie Dingeman, recruiting manager. “Our backup IT servers are there, and we consider it one of our more permanent facilities. It’s also about the real estate – it’s one of our largest facilities as well.”

The jobs pay anywhere between $13 and $15 an hour, with the sales jobs paying more, she said.

“And this is more than just a job; it will be a career,” she said. “Progressive is a very stable company, and the size of our Springs office means the opportunities are limitless.”

The call center jobs require two years of customer-service experience, and the sales jobs require a year of proven sales experience.

“These are inside sales,” she said. “So the people will be taking calls that come into the center.”

One Response to Progressive to hire 72 in Springs

  1. This same Colorado Springs Progressive office just laid off a bunch of their staff who had been there for 10+ years…

My guess is they’re really hiring new employees because they can pay them less $ than the “veteran” staff who was just laid off was making – especially in this economy.

Is it a job, yes – Career? Don’t count on it!!!
