Denver firm acquires Systems Engineering

Denver-based Farnsworth Group Inc. has bought a local engineering firm, Systems Engineering, but plans to keep its Springs offices open.

Systems Engineering provides mechanical, plumbing and process piping engineering services to clients nationwide, and was started in 1979 as Sol Chavez and Associates. It became Systems Engineering in 1986.

“Farnsworth Group and System’s Engineering were both built on the same philosophy that the customer is our first priority,” said Farnsworth Group President and CEO Karen Jensen. “The firms have complimentary services that will help reinforce our capabilities, resources and leadership to our clients. We are enthusiastic about the new opportunities this acquisition will offer, and the expertise and talent joining the Farnsworth Group team.”

The acquisition gives Systems Engineering staff and clients a nationwide network of offices and 100-year history, and the support of more than 300 Farnsworth Group personnel.

“The goals and values of Farnsworth Group mirrored those that we worked hard to establish at Systems Engineering,” said former Systems Engineering President Dave Buesser, who will now lead the Colorado Springs consulting office. “Farnsworth Group will allow us to focus on what we do best, and that is serving our clients with excellence as we design high performance buildings and systems. Plus, we will have the resources and expertise of an established, multi-discipline firm that can only further support our clients’ needs.”

Farnsworth Group Inc., an employee-owned company, is a full-service engineering, architecture and survey firm, with offices including Illinois, Missouri , Colorado, Wisconsin, California and Georgia.
