The new state law gave local governments the right to regulate commercial activities, does anyone not understand this. Want to change it, vote for one of your pot head buddies to run for commissioner.
With a few exceptions for medical purposes, cannabis is nothing more than a drug, that leads to more serious addiction. Get a life…..

Well, it is true that stoners are not energetic enough to move off the couch further than the kitchen for a new bag of Doritos!
I voted for this amendment, not because I am even a user but because, like prohibition before, it needs to be regulated (for safety) and taxed (for revenue)! I don’t care if you use, but it should be taxed like alcohol and tobacco, and fined for “bootleggers” . We voted this in, now lets use it for something good.

It is interesting that Mrs. Lathen was quoted in the press that she ” – - does not buy into the statement this over-rides the will of the people.” How do you feel about this:

The voters county-wide did approve A64 although by the slim margin of 10. But, voters in her particular district did, in fact, vote it down. Overall, for all five districts, the vote was to allow, not to ban.

In as much as these are “County Commissioners” and not “District Commissioners” that this board did actually over-ride the vote of the people?

Would it be that the Commissioners basically just made an ‘ideological’ statement of no real consequence as this ban really only applies if you are sitting in a cow pasture way out on Highway 94?

This was a morality statement intended to ignore the will of majority voters in our County that approved Amendment 64. The sad irony is that this ban does not prevent the use or home cultivation of marijuana; it simply opts out of any local control of commercial facilities to supply the demand. This means a proliferation of home operations in neighborhoods will fill the void instead; risking mold, fire, and robbery damages in unregulated homes. Good bye property values, good bye revenues, goodbye small businesses. Thanks County Commissioners for your infinite, albeit shortsighted, “wisdom”.
