The Downtown Business Improvement District awarded Springs marketing firm Blakely + Company a contract capped at $125,000 to help the Downtown Partnership develop a comprehensive communications strategy.
The agency will take its first steps toward crafting that plan this weekend when it plans to survey downtown stakeholders about redevelopment efforts.
The agency will set up shop in a vacant storefront at 12 E. Bijou St. to conduct one-on-one interviews and 90-minute focus groups.
“They want to talk to anyone who lives or works downtown or visits for any reason,” spokeswoman Rachel Beck said.
Those who would like to participate should call Blakely + Company at 630-3133 to schedule an appointment or stop by the storefront on Jan. 24 to complete a written survey.
Hannah Parsons, interim executive director for the partnership, has said she wants to leave most decisions for the new CEO. But Beck said the group decided it would be good to start working on improving communications now.
“The research process, certainly, we can do before the new CEO starts because it’s pretty scientific,” she said.
A hiring committee was reviewing about 60 resumes Tuesday, most of which were from applicants already living on the Front Range. They will conduct interviews in coming weeks and home to be able to make an announcement by mid-February, Beck said.
