CSHP adds sports medicine clinic

Colorado Springs Health Partners opened a new sports medicine clinic earlier this week at its specialty center at 1633 Medical Center Point on the northwest corner of Union and Fillmore.

The clinic is designed to help treat and prevent injuries related to sports and exercise for athletes 10 and older throughout the Pikes Peak regions.

“With Colorado Springs being such a fit community, a sports medicine clinic to serve our active population is a great fit,” said Dr. Jason Tomo, who will treat patients at the clinic.

The clinic is housed in the same building with radiology and imaging to make it easier to treat patients.

Tamo is a board-certified family practice doctor and has a fellowship in sports medicine. He joined Colorado Springs Health Partners in 2011 as a hospitalists after practicing sports medicine in Las Vegas for 11 years.

CSHP is the largest physician-owned practice in the state. It was established in 1946 and employs 125 doctors in 10 practice locations. It received level III certification in patient centered medical home through the National Committee on Quality Assurance.
