Community leadership award nominations
Leadership Pikes Peak is seeking nominees in four categories for its annual leadership awards to be presented April 6 at the Olympic Training Center. Colorado’s Emerging Leaders Initiative class
Applications are being accepted through March 22 for the SBA’s Emerging Leaders Initiative, the only federal training program that focuses on executives of established businesses that are poised for growth. The project is open to businesses owners across the nation and provides them with the necessary tools to build sustainable businesses. Requirements: 1) $400,000 in annual revenue; 2) in business for three years; and 3) at least one employee. Applicants will be interviewed and finalists will be notified April 1. Classes begin in mid April.
A free “ObamaCare: Reform in Action” webinar will be held at noon to discuss the tools that the Affordable Care Act brings to combat rising costs while improving quality and access. Judith Bentoker, academic director of the executive master of healthcare leadership program and adjunct professor of health services, policy and practice at Brown Alpert Medical School, will lead the webinar.

CU Funding in Focus forum
The University of Colorado is holding a Funding in Focus education forum at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs to build a network of constituents who will promote the university’s education aims and raise awareness about funding issues. Intro to QuickBooks Pro: Part 2
This class builds on the lessons learned in Part 1, covering credit card accounts, tracking asset and liability accounts, and equity accounts. It also covers customer payments, discounts, partial payments and overpayments, and how to record a deposit.
