A new online mapping system will allow businesses interested in relocating or expanding in Colorado to find available properties and locate businesses throughout the state.
“This tool is crucial to keeping Colorado on the cutting edge of the global economy, providing a virtual map of the unique business assets we offer in the state,” said Ken Lund, executive director of OEDIT. “This will allow companies in Colorado, as well as outside of Colorado, to make wise and informed business decisions based on available data.”
Colorado InSite provides information for free, including available commercial property listings, mapping by industry and companies, data on existing businesses, and community, recreational and infrastructure assets. For example, detailed demographics reports can be created based on a radius or drive time around a property or business or for a specific community.
Colorado InSite aids OEDIT in achieving goals set forth in the Colorado Blueprint, the state’s economic development business plan. The tools available through the site allow companies considering relocating to Colorado to have on-demand location assistance at their fingertips. Additionally the mapping component of the system features layers that highlight financing entities statewide, along with workforce centers, higher education institutions, and research and development centers – all key in attracting and retaining companies.
Additionally, OEDIT staff today embarked on a Colorado Blueprint Regional Road Tour to update Coloradans about the progress that has been made on achieving the goals of the blueprint, as well as to educate communities about how they can use Colorado InSite most effectively. During the next three weeks, OEDIT will visit the cities of Durango, Montrose, Edwards, Rifle, Walsenburg, Colorado Springs, Centennial, Akron, Windsor, Lamar, Limon, Alamos and Salida.
