Colorado has won a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services grant to continue its health care innovation plan.

ekgThe $2 million grant is a pre-testing award from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and builds on the state’s proposal to integrate behavioral health and clinical health care.

The grant is paid for through the state innovation models initiative.

The initiative is for states that are prepared to plan, implement, design and test new payment and delivery service models in the context of larger health system transformation. States will test service delivery models that have the potential to lower costs for Medicare, Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program.
