Kaiser ranked highest Colorado health plan, says J.D. Power

Kaiser Permanente members have rated the organization’s health plan highest in member satisfaction in Colorado for a sixth consecutive year, according to a new study released by J.D. Power and Associates.

J.D. Power and Associates 2013 Member Health Plan Study is based on survey responses of 33,000 members in 136 commercial health plans throughout the United States. Colorado is one of 17 market regions measured in the study. Health plans were evaluated for coverage and benefits, provider choice, information and communication, claims processing, statements, customer service and approval process.

Each health plan was measured on a scale of 1,000 points. Kaiser Permanente Colorado received a score of 718 – the highest overall member satisfaction score in the Colorado region. In addition, Kaiser Permanente ranked highest in five study factors:

Kaiser Permanente Colorado has been widely recognized within the health care industry for delivering top-quality care. According to the National Committee for Quality Assurance Health Insurance Plan Rankings 2012-2013, Kaiser Permanente Colorado is the highest-rated private health insurance plan in Colorado, and No. 6 in the nation for quality and member satisfaction. The Kaiser Permanente Medicare plan in Colorado also earned five stars from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the highest overall rating for quality and service for 2013 plans.

  1. Wow, really? That’s pretty surprising given how unhealthy people in Colorado actually are, lol. Guess that doesn’t get taken into effect, though…
