John Leavitt, APR, has been named public information officer for the El Paso County Clerk and Recorder office. Leavitt, a local public relations veteran, has more than 19 years of government communications experience. Leavitt most recently served as a public relations consultant for Junior Achievement USA. He also has served in senior communications positions with the city of Colorado Springs, Memorial Hospital, Colorado Springs School District 11 and Colorado Springs Utilities. He is accredited in public relations by the Public Relations Society of America.

Four broker associates have joined RE/MAX Properties Inc. Tony Deppe has been selling real estate in Colorado Springs since 2001. In the past 11 years he worked with more than 450 families and individuals on their real estate transactions.

Stacy Reddish has lived in Colorado Springs since 1998. She grew up in Iowa, graduated from the University of Iowa, and retired from the Air Force after 20 years of service.

Michelle Fisher is a native of Colorado and has lived in Colorado Springs for 13 years. She is a former elementary educator.

Stephanie Glidden received her first Real Estate license in California in November 2002. She sold real estate in California for seven years before moving to Colorado in 2009.

Patrick Ballard has been named vice president of finance for Penrose-St. Francis Health Services. Ballard will oversee the day-to-day financial operations at Penrose-St. Francis. He will lead the annual fiscal planning cycle, including strategic, capital and operational budget processes. Ballard has 27 years of decision support, accounting and finance experience in the health care industry, all with Penrose-St. Francis.

Lonnie Cramer has been named vice president of operations for Penrose Hospital. He will spearhead hospital joint ventures and business development initiatives. Cramer has 23 years of operational health care experience and has been with Penrose-St. Francis since 2007. In his most recent role, he was the administrative director for surgical services, imaging services and the orthopedic and neurosurgery service lines. He previously was director of diagnostic imaging services for the Fort Walton Beach Medical Center in Florida and was chief operating officer for MDiagnostics Inc., a company in Metairie, La., specializing in outpatient imaging. He began his career in the U.S. Army, serving eight years.

Kris Ponnequin, CPA, has been named manager at BiggsKofford P.C. He joins BiggsKofford from LaPorte CPAs and Business Advisors, a Houston-based firm, where he led the tax team and served private equity, real estate, construction, manufacturing, distribution and oil and gas clients with technical tax issues. Before working at LaPorte, he was a tax manager at Hein & Co. and received his bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Tulane University and his master’s in tax from the University of New Orleans.

BiggsKofford also hired two tax-season interns: Nick Phillips and Jennifer Malets. Phillips is a student at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, earning his bachelor’s degree in accounting. He also is a tutor to other accounting students. Malets is a graduate of Wilmington University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting. She worked at Jefferson, Urian, Doane and Sterner P.A. for two seasons, assisting their individual clients with tax return preparation.

Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region named three new board members: Victor Andrews, Mary Evans and Sue Mulvihill. They will replace retiring board members Laine Smith, a community volunteer; Dick Wilhelm, of Wilhelm Monument Company; and Dr. Melanie Marsden, of Pikes Peak Veterinary Clinic.

Andrews is a retired U.S. Air Force colonel. He has served on several other boards, including that of the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.

Evans is an attorney with her own practice in Colorado Springs. She has been a soup kitchen volunteer, has worked for Care and Share programs and served on several boards, including the Pikes Peak Hospice and Palliative Care Board.

Mulvihill is a community volunteer. She is the chairwoman of the Discover Goodwill of Southern and Western Colorado Foundation board of directors and board secretary of the Children’s Literacy Center. Board member officers for 2013 are Jim Flynn, chairman; Phil Price, vice chairman; Carol Pennica, secretary; and Mike Rowe, treasurer.

Rusty Chamberlain has joined Bryan Construction as project manager. Chamberlain is assigned to the Evans Army Community Hospital alteration project at Fort Carson. He has nine years’ construction experience, previously working with The Weitz Company and Sauer Incorporated.

Justin Burns has joined PCI Broadband, an Internet service provider, as regional director for the Denver market. He will oversee all Denver sales teams for PCI Broadband, including the company’s newest line of VoIP services, “PhonePipe.” He also will help manage key business accounts throughout the state. He has more than a decade of experience in telecom sales.
