The Forum 2013: Essential Perspectives for Safety Net Providers

The Colorado Rural Health Center and ClinicNet will hold a 2½-day conference at the Sheraton Denver West to discuss and learn about exploding health care costs, large numbers of uninsured and underinsured and an overextended health care structure. Tips and secrets for nonprofit publicity

The Association of Fundraising Professionals SoCo and the Center for Nonprofit Excellence present tips and secrets for nonprofit publicity from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Pikes Peak United Way office at 518 N. Nevada. The event is free, and the panel will feature Barbara Cotter from The Gazette; Jennifer Horbelt, anchor at KOAA-TV, and Platinum Public Relations Group. Mountain Lion Research Day

El Pomar Institute for Innovation and Commercialization is hosting “Mountain Lion Research Day” to showcase research achievements of the University of Colorado Colorado Springs faculty through more than 104 posters and presentations. The posters will be presented from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and a lunch will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Gallogly Events Center. There’s no fee to attend.

EPIIC Nights

April 5 is the deadline to register for the April EPIIC Night event featuring Luis Solis, president of Imaginatik pic, a business that fixes broken technology companies and inspires leaders to embrace innovation. He led the turnaround for Imaginatik in Boston and previously guided GroupSystems to profitability. The event is from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, Upper Lodge. Astronaut lectures

The Space Foundation will host a series of lectures by former astronaut Leroy Chiao at its visitors center, 4425 Arrowswest. Dr. Chiao will speak about his experiences at the International Space Station from 11 a.m. to noon, 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Visitors Center admission is free for military personnel and to people affected by the Waldo Canyon fire who present a Colorado Springs Together card.
