Given from the OEDIT’s, Creative Industries division, the ColoradoCreates grants provide financial support to produce arts and cultural activities throughout the state.
Grant applicants must be nonprofit groups, department of Colorado public colleges or universities, or government agencies. Applicants must provide public arts or cultural heritage programs for at least three years by the application deadline.
Grants range from $4,000 to $10,000. Proposals are reviewed by panels based on three critieria: artistic excellence and merit, community involvement and benefit and implementation capacity. Last year, 133 grants were awarded for a total of $1.04 million.
Colorado Creative Industries will be hosting information sessions for those interested in applying for the grants. Deadline to apply is June 20 at 4 p.m.
The first session is Friday from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Pueblo Convention Center. On Monday, April 22 from 3 to 4 p.m., the group will be at the Museum of Western Colorado in Grand Junction and Tuesday, April 23 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Centennial Hall in Steamboat Springs. There are also meetings in April at Longmont and May 3 in Parker.
