Small Business Week offers business tips, advice
Sponsored by the Better Business Bureau of Southern Colorado and the Small Business Development Center, Small Business Week of the Pikes Peak Region takes place next week and is filled with guest speakers,
The week culminates on Friday with a guest speaker, New York Times and Wall Street Journal Bestselling Author Weldon Long. Long will deliver his award-winning keynote speech on “The Power of Consistency.”
All events are free, with the exception of the keynote speech. Friday, the seminar is $25, the lunch is $40, and both are $55.

Networking: Much More Than a Meet & Greet Kick-off a week dedicated to advancing small business best practices with Kevin Knebl, international social media speaker/author/trainer. Learn some quick tips that lead to real results while connecting with representatives of companies breathing economic life into the greater Pikes Peak Region. Media Day: Dispel Misnomers of ‘Newsworthy’ Hear from the people that decide: Does your story make the cut? Gain insight from real people that sift through press releases and emails daily to find nuggets of information. The take-away: A change of mindset for small business in how to build awareness and ‘work’ earned media. The event will be held at Stargazer’s Theatre & Event Center, 10 Parkside Dr., from 5-7:30 p.m. RSVP: here.
Grow Smart: Tap in Strategically Every dollar earned may be a dollar gained but what a small business does with each George Washington is paramount to its success. Listen to peers who illustrate avenues companies can explore and ultimately develop into results. This event will be held at the Soiree Event Center, 1003 S. Social Enterprise: Shifting the Paradigm Is there really a way to do what you love and earn a living? Find out in this intriguing session that doesn’t just mention the “triple bottom line” but shares real case examples of how it can and has been achieved here in our backyards. Small Business Day: Tying it all Together. Featuring a Keynote Address from New York Times and Wall Street Journal Bestselling Author Weldon Long With a week jammed full of amazing talent and commitment to improvement, don’t miss the last day.
