Memorial, Sky Sox provide tickets to Springs’ first responders

Memorial Hospital and the Colorado Springs Sky Sox want to say thank you to  first responders in the Black Forest fire.

The groups are providing 450 softball-game tickets to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, the Colorado Springs Police Department and the Colorado Springs Fire Department.

Memorial invites first responders to attend the “Hero’s Classic’ game at 7:05 p.m. Saturday, but the tickets are good for any home game, except July 4. Fireworks follow Saturday’s game.

“We are grateful for the first responders who put their lives on the line to protect our community,’’ said Mike Scialdone, chief executive officer of Memorial Hospital. “We’d like them to relax and enjoy a ballgame.’’

Memorial Hospital and the Colorado Springs Sky Sox are community partners, working together to promote health and well-being in southern Colorado.
