St. Francis wins Becker “top 100″ award

The awards keep rolling in for Penrose-St. Francis Health Services.

In addition to winning Healthgrades’ top 50 hospitals nationwide, the hospital’s St. Francis Medical Center, located at the corner of Woodmen Road and Academy Boulevard, was named a “100 Great Community Hospital” by Becker’s Hospital Review.

Recipients of the award have fewer than 550 beds and minimal teaching programs. The hospitals work with limited resources to provide quality care, according to a press release about the award.

St. Francis Medical Center was the only hospital in southern Colorado to make the list this year. Other Colorado recipients include Aspen Valley Hospital and McKee Medical Center in Loveland.

The Becker’s Hospital Review editorial team selected community hospitals based on rankings and awards from iVantage Health Analytics, Truven Health Analytics (formerly Thomson Reuters), Healthgrades and The Joint Commission.

  1. It doesn’t say WHAT the rank is and neither do you. For all we know it could be 100/100… How about a little truth in advertising?
