The merger will created one of the largest law firms in the Western United States and will have 250 lawyers. Its new name will be Lewis Roca Rothgerber LLP and will have offices in Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico and Wyoming.
Local firm chairman Frederick Baumann said the merger was consistent with the firm’s strategic plan and was fueled by clients who wanted access to legal counsel in other markets.
“Our clients have been expanding in the Southwest region for some time and encouraged us to find an opportunity to establish a presence there,” said Baumann. “With Lewis and Roca, we are partnering with a firm with an equally strong reputation in its practices and markets.”
Rothgerber, Johnson & Lyons is headquartered in Denver, but also has offices in the Springs. The merger will strengthen the company’s national litigation presence, as well as their business transactional, real estate and energy practices.
Baumann will become executive committee chairman of Lewis Roca Rothgerber. The combination will undergo due diligence and will be completed by Sept. 1.
