The United States Air Force Academy was named one of the top U.S. universities in a list compiled by Forbes magazine.

The academy ranked 31st, with the United States Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., coming in seventh and the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md, coming in 28th in the nation.

“The U.S. service academies all scored well in the Forbes list, alongside some very impressive schools,” said Brig. Gen. Andrew Armacost, the dean of faculty at USAFA. “I think that’s a great testament to the kind of students and faculty we draw to the military academies. We continue to focus on offering our students a world-class education that is combined with leadership development unmatched on the planet.”

Stanford University ranked No. 1 on the list, followed by Pomona College and Princeton University. The rankings are calculated by Forbes and the Center for College Affordability and Productivity, based in Washington, D.C. Go to www.forbes.com for a complete list.
